I bought my rod from you guys a couple years ago and LOVE it. Thnx :)
You are a silly human. Like these clementines dont taste nothing like these other oranges i like to say the name of because it sounds like names of the people in the cartoon porns i watch lol.
Is this the shortest rod when it collapses or extends? I live in Western PA and while PA has many streams most are shallow and dense with brush. I am looking for the shortest rod when extended.
Sweet…do you fish this as a dry?
I just discovered this amazing style of fishing (have no gear though) what would you recommend for first overall rod . I live in Pittsburgh.
Great to see some big fish action. Would love to see some videos that show how you rig your rods and how you are fishing for the fish rather than just showing fish being caught. Thanks for all you do.
Tightlining streamers though 🔥🔥🔥
Looks like I just found my next fiberglass cane pole for panfish and crappie.
Great video on getting started. Thanks
Wow what a waste
Looks fun
Takes all the art of fly fishing and dumps it for a no skill pole fishing rod my best rainbow was 28lb try landing that on a tenkara rod
I think it’s so funny that fly fisherman like to make fun of the tenkara but it really is just a fun different way to fish and had nothing to do with not being able to use a traditional fly fishing rod
Am I understanding correctly that tenkara fishing involves a limited amount of line? And is there an advisable amount of line to start with?
There’s not a limit per se, but if the line you are using is too long, then when you hook a fish, you will have to drag the fish in by pulling the line in with your hand - not much fun. A good rule of thumb is, the casting line plus tippet should be about 12-18” longer than your rod length. This allows you to hold the fish under tension at your feet and reach for it to release it. So, for a 12’ Tenkara rod, use a casting line that’s about 10’ long and use a tippet about 3’ long.
Nice! I can’t wait to put my bear tooth rod to work out west- from South Carolina.
What rod is good for crappie big and small?
That fish at 4:55 was a female sockeye, fellas. I am pretty sure one go you got an IGFA slam.
Like so many other comments. Had someone tried to use a tenkara in a way it wasn't meant for, you're just not going to get the same results.
Wondering if you can tell me some places on the map near these rivers/spots. I've been going to Sao Miguel every few summers because my family is from there but they decides to move to Canada around the 60-70s and I'm now thinking of trying fresh water fishing when I go this summer.
The cat distribution system chose you, and you blew it. Should have took it hame.
What rod length and leader length did you use? What an awesome video!
Any idea when the sawtooth or seirra will be back in stock?
Hey, where are you guys in this video? I'm in Tucson and just bought a rod and I'm trying to find places to fish.
Solid looking rod. Definitely plan on checking out the 240!
Loved it. Thanks! Last year, I hooked 6 over 20". Always looking for the really nice ones like that. I have favorite spots in Oregon but would really like to get over to Idaho like you guys did. Great job!
I live in Eastern Oregon and fish quite a few of the Redband streams. My favorites. I stay in shape so I can hike many miles in a day to escape fishing pressure. My buddy and I get about 4-5 big trips per year into the wilderness streams that we love so much.
Seriously considering getting one of these. Im an aquariast, not a game fisher, so im getting into micro fishing. I appreciate how this is named after a very popular aquarium fish as well that's known for imhabiting fast streams! Thanks for such an in depth showcase!
It would be called a Feral cat in the wild, but the way it came right up to you guys means it has had human contact. Most likely betrayed by those same humans and dropped off in the wild. seeing as how you said you guys drove 10 miles down that road it tells me its either been dropped off or accidentally left. . I doubt you guys fed or took it to a shelter right? That is absolutely heart breaking. It definitely was trying to be with you guys. Worst thing about that is, other than some low life abandoning it in the first place that is, the life expectancy of a cat IN THE wild is 2 to 3 years, where as , when kept indoors, well...the oldest domesticated HOUSE cat to have ever lived reached the age of 38... Poor little one didnt stand a chance, 2+ years since this vid was shot...well... may your spirit rest in peace dear little one. 😢
If you want to show the tying process well, wear a bright-colored T-shirt. The black fly hook is not visible at all against the black T-shirt and black background. What are you trying to show lol
Gance eh
This video would have been great without the silly narrator!
Great video! I just bought the fly thing kit from your website and can’t wait to tie this fly once my kit comes. Thanks!
That was so great. My first Tenkara rod comes tomorrow. The Sierra. Have a packing trip into the Sierras planned for June. It’s going to be just that kind of fishing. Stoked!
Release?? This is madness. Eat them
Ordered the white cloud for my boyfriend. I’m thinking he may need a bigger duty one since he enjoys large body of water I wish I could find his other fly rods to see the length he prefers. We live in wasilla Alaska is there one you would prefer is best for the fish around here?
Wicked music too!
Fish first light on the rising tide in the estuaries for Coastal Cutthroat. Make casts into each pool as the tide begins to fill them up with incoming seawater. Late May through June is best........
do you catch and release?
Most of the time we do. But sometimes if we are camping or backpacking or the fish is invasive we will eat it.
Just need to head up above the fish barrier is all you needed to to do the bottom section of that Rio has bigger fish but all the cuttys are up top
The bottom section was fishing so nice. So we really only needed to go up a little higher?
Yeah, go up a little higher . and there are some better creeks around for Rio cutts .. lmk if you come back this way
I love your humor in these videos. Congratulations on the announcement! 🎉🎉🎉
Haha ya if we are going to do something we might as well have fun with it. Thanks!
So nice. Im planning to pick one of the brands rods. Very nice
That’s a really cool rod. The 240 would be fun in the small creeks in my area. I caught some smallies on my Beartooth rod a few weeks ago. It was a freakin blast. I posted a short of it on my channel.
Just watched that little short of you catching the bass looked like such a fun fight!
@@tenkararodco it was awesome watching come up and smash that fly. Thanks for an awesome rod.
Looks like my next trail-running rod! How does it compare to the Beartooth?
The main difference is going to be the length of the 240. At only 7'10" its the smallest rod weve ever made and lightest also. That one is crazy fun for very small little creeks
This looks like it will be very effective where I fish. I'm a dedicated euro guy, this looks like a different way of doing it. Could you dry drop or use sighter markers if nymphing two nymphs? Any information is helpful.
Yes you definitely could use different sight markers if fishing two nymphs. Also one of the benefits of fishing such a long rod is how sensitive it is to detect fish so most of the time when tightline nymphing we don't use any markers.
5:48 almost lost my cool there haha
Yoga. That was funny! Nice intro!
More tuna more 😅
Definitely going to be doing some more of these!
I'd say play that fish a little more but..
Never thought much about tying my own flies, but this is getting me interested!
Its a really fun Winter activity and hard to beat catching a fish on a fly you tied yourself!
Tuna tying, let's go! Spin those kebaris👌
So fun
